What's A Doula?
Are We The Right Fit?
During our free hour discovery call, many clients ask what a doula does. It's a great question. Doula translates from Greek as "woman who serves". She's an experienced guide who can offer info and perspective, pregnancy and birth ed. and prep, emotional and physical labor support, and postpartum care. She doesn't hold a clinical role, offer medical advice, or replace partners. Research shows she can increase client satisfaction and vaginal birth rates.
The discovery call is a spacious time to ask all your questions and receive candid answers in return. This transparency allows us to get to know each other a bit as we explore your birth vision and goals alongside my package offerings. You can get a sense of what support might feel like with me, and we can discover if we are a good match. If for some reason we aren't, I'm always glad to share recommendations for other doulas who might be a better fit.

Practical Preparation
I offer four prenatal sessions that provide an open, curious, space for you to customize your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. To help you feel fully informed of all your options, we can explore the mental and hormonal blueprint of physiological birth as well as pregnancy and labor decisions, movements, comfort techniques, and positions. My hope is that you gain the knowledge and confidence to make decisions from a place of deep self-trust.
Your prenatal sessions are complimented by robust virtual support via your preference: email, text, or call. As we continue to connect, I'll provide you personally curated recommendations for books, videos, handouts, and online resources. To help you feel centered and ready for your birth experience, we'll go over your labor and postpartum plans, including how you want the people around you to be part of these plans in a way that honors your autonomy.

Last Weeks & Early Labor
Active Labor & Golden Hour
Starting two weeks before your estimated due date, I go on call for you 24/7 through your birth experience. These last weeks can be both blissful and trying, and all of it is preparing you for labor. We will talk about the many different ways early labor can look and evolve so that you can feel confident about your own natural rhythm as its signs and sensations appear, whether slowly or quickly, all at once, or off and on. We will stay in close touch.
Once you're ready for support, I'll meet you at home and/or birth center or hospital for your active labor through golden hour. Supporting your unique needs and preferences might look like ensuring the room knows your voice leads the way, providing physical touch or position ideas (with consent), capturing some photos or video (with prior consent), or simply offering calm, trusting presence as you labor your own way and birth as you are.

Connection & Help
The first days and weeks after birth are a time of profound transition, your entry into motherhood. As you prioritize nourishment and rest for your physical and well-being, it is important that you know you're not alone. To this end, I offer one postpartum visit within the first three months after birth. Your visit can include grounded presence, birth processing, light house work, help with feeding or wearing, closing bones, etc. – customized to best serve you.
As you navigate your early postpartum time, I offer continued virtual connection via phone, text, and email. This can look like listening to worries, answering questions, or linking you to online resources. For anything that is out of my experience or scope, I offer recommendations for local help. This can include lactation and feeding experts, pelvic floor specialists, infant and family body workers, overnight doulas, allergists – my network is yours.

Transparent Pricing
Access & Insurance
Choosing to work with me is $1800. Paying a non-refundable $900 deposit secures your spot in my calendar. The $900 balance is due at 36 weeks. For those finding my support at 37 weeks and onward, the deposit is the full amount. Your investment places vulnerable trust in me for our agreed upon services. I take seriously your trust, time, and client experience as well as my own time, energy, and livelihood. The integrity of our agreement matters.
Need a pricing option or customized package? I believe you. I have a few sliding scale spaces every year, so we can find an investment and package plan that meets your needs. Meanwhile, NH is rolling out a program for doulas to accept all NH Medicaid. I'm enrolled in this initiative and will update as soon as it is live. I'm also hoping to one day accept Mass Health and Carrot Fertility. Have an insurance suggestion? I'm glad to look into how billing might work.
